“Tribal and Religious sentiments are elite conspiracy to keep Nigeria undeveloped” –Peter Obi speaking on CNN

Peter Obi is an orator and a political genius. He is probably one of the best Nigerian public officers. As a number one citizen, he will become Nigeria’s best salesman. His impressive public relation will soothe the nerves of foreign investors and reassure them of the country’s determination to safeguard and boost their investments.

His interview on CNN conducted by Asher Zain was like a poetry in action. His analysis of Nigeria state of affairs was right on the money. The most impressive of his act, was his intricate understanding of the nails and bolts of the country’s economy and security architecture; with the rightful application tools to bring a successful outcome.

“If we have a leader that is competent, have the capacity, and commitment to deal with it, no one will solve it overnight. But there will be clear, visible, measurable attempts to dealing with it. And they are things that are solvable. There are things they can be dealt decisively,” Obi said as he reacted to the question of the leadership failure and disappointment in Nigeria. By his pronouncement he displayed his understanding of the country’s polity and its disorganizing elites that stood on the way of the country’s greatness.

On alleviating poverty in Nigeria, Obi illustrated that security is the focal point and foremost in cutting down poverty. Obi said, “One is that you have to deal decisively with security. It is impacting negatively on your economy today. Because you have to get your farmers to go back to the farm, and start ensuring that the vast land of the North is invested and cultivated on. You have to start pulling people out of poverty as quickly as possible.”

The totality of the interview buttressed that he knows his onions and that he is ready to tackle problems of Nigeria with unbending mindset and decisive action. His proficiency on issues was self evident.
