Igbo @ Pope’s Vatican Christmas Mass: Igbo becoming a global language of worship (video)

For Christmas 2025, the Vatican’s Christmas Vigil Mass led by Pope Leo XIV featured significant Igbo participation, including a prayer read in Igbo and an Igbo couple presenting offertory gifts, celebrating the global diversity of the Catholic Church and Nigerian Catholics. This event at St. Peter’s Basilica showcased Igbo language and culture, with streams on YouTube and Facebook highlighting the prayers and the couple’s role. 

A powerful moment in Rome, at the Vatican, as the Prayer of the Faithful was offered in Igbo during the Pope’s Christmas Vigil Mass.
