Enugu Governor appoints Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina a Brand Ambassador for Enugu State.

Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina has been appointed as a Brand Ambassador of Enugu State by the governor of the state Mr. Mbah.

Governor Mbah while praising the effort of the beauty pageant said: “I am very delighted to congratulate and welcome you to your homeland and we are proud to have you as a daughter of Enugu State. “Your story is inspiring. You could see that despite all attempts to malign and discourage you, you demonstrated that you are a true daughter of Enugu State.

“You overcame those challenges with the grit and resilience the people of Enugu State are known for. “With the height and the feat you have attained today, you are able to act as a major influence to our young people, girls in particular,.”

On accepting the responsibility  as the Brand Ambassador of Enugu State, the beauty queen said: “It has been a lovely experience coming to Nigeria. I feel accepted and loved. I also want to use the opportunity to commend you on your great work”.

Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina was born and raised in South Africa but her father is a Nigerian from Enugu State and her mother is from South Africa of Mozambique heritage. She was rejected by South Africans in their beauty pageant because her father is from Nigeria. Eventually, she was invited to contest beauty contest in Nigeria and she won. Chidimma Adetshina is the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria and will represent Nigeria in the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico in November: 2024.

The full statement by the governor: “Today, I appointed Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Onwe Adetsina, as the brand ambassador of Enugu State. Chidimma is an indigene of Amurri, Nkanu West LGA who embodies the resilience and determination that define Ndi Enugu. Her journey to this remarkable achievement, despite numerous challenges, is a testament to the grit and perseverance that we, as Ndi Enugu, are known for. I am incredibly proud to congratulate her on this accomplishment and welcome her back home.

Chidimma’s story will serve as a beacon of hope to our young people, particularly young women. Her influence will undoubtedly inspire others to pursue their dreams, and we look forward to engaging her in programmes that will empower our youths. At the heart of our administration’s mission is an unwavering commitment to youth development, which is why we have dedicated 33% of our budget to education. We believe that the true wealth of Enugu lies in our human resources, and Chidimma’s success further strengthens our resolve.

As she prepares to represent Nigeria and Enugu on the global stage at Miss Universe 2024 Pageant in Mexico, she carries with her our full support and pride. We are confident she will continue to shine as a symbol of excellence and resilience.”
