The presidential candidate of All Progressive Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu did not submit his academic and educational certificates to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as required by law because according to him “Unknown Persons” stole them.
In Tinubu sworn affidavit submitted with his nomination form for the office of the president of Nigeria, he acknowledged that he “went on self exile from October 1994 to October 1999 (and) when I returned and discovered that my property including all the documents relating to my qualification and my certificates in respect of paragraph 3 above were looted by unknown persons.”
In the presidential form he turned in to INEC, he filled that he attended University of Chicago between 1972 and 1976, and graduated with B.Sc in Economics. In addition he noted on the form that he also obtained B.Sc in Business and Administration, together with a certificate in Public Accounting. But he skipped the line for primary and secondary schools attended and did not give any information on them.
But that was not so in the governorship form in 1999 where he said “he attended St Paul Children’s Home School, Ibadan, between 1958 and 1964; while his secondary education was at Government College Ibadan (GCI), between 1965 and 1968.”
