2023: Peter Obi visits Governor Wike

June 22, 2022 by AFRIPOL Leave a Comment

Peter Obi. (R) and Gov. Wike @Port Harcourt

The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi visited Governor Wike of Rivers State earlier today at his residential governor quarters in Port Harcourt.

Governor Wike contested in the PDP primary election and lost his party’s nomination to Abubakar Atiku. In addition, the running mate was denied to him as Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State emerged as the deputy to Atiku. Since then rumours were running rampant that Wike may decamp from PDP.

This is a season of uncertainty and possibilities as the 2023 general elections is knocking at the door.

Former governor of Anambra State and the flagbearer of Labour Party, Obi is waxing stronger and gaining political momentum around the country.

The visit Obi paid to Wike is surely connected to the politics of 2023 elections. The two men had a closed door meeting and did not speak to the press after they emerged from their long meeting.
