MAYA ANGELOU – Golden bird fly

MAYA ANGELOU

Golden bird fly

By Emeka Chiakwelu

There was it etching

Pondering a flight

A flight for freedom

Awesome flight for liberty

The wings are strong but brittle

The mind is weak but willing

Can she fly?

Who knows what can happen

The raining dew was pouring down

Lightening gives no alibi

The struggle started in the metaphysical

The physical a recipient of inner decision

The hour of doubt!

The second of decision!

The years have gone!

The fallibility of doubt

The mind is ready

The wings are set to soar

Therefore soar now ready

Fly and fly away for you

Fly and soar for us

You are ready to fly

The summer wind arrives

Fall air is thick with vapor

Wait not, wait not anymore

Fly now golden bird

Born on soil but live in air

Air is your natural home

Look not back golden bird

Is your time and moment

Do it for the east wind

Eyes are upon you

The vision is clear

The atmosphere is ready

Golden bird spread wings

Soars she does in the air

Cold wind cannot stop

Hot air meanders away

Yes!  Golden bird flies and fly
