Prince Harry’s controversial memoir, ‘Spare,’ to be release in January 2023

October 28, 2022 by AFRIPOL Leave a Comment

Prince Harry’s long awaited memoir entitled “Spare” will be release by January 10, 2023 according to the publisher.

“The 416-page book will include Harry’s recollection of Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997, when the 12-year-old prince walked behind his mother’s coffin, Penguin Random House said in a press release. Its title appears to nod towards Harry’s perceived role within the royal family, from which he and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex stepped back as working royals in early 2020.”

According to the publisher Penguin Random, “For Harry, this is his story at last. With its raw, unflinching honesty, SPARE is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”

“Some of the proceeds from the book go to charity. The publisher confirmed this was in the form of two donations of $1.5m (£1.3m) and £300,000 respectively to the charities Sentebale and WellChild.  Sentebale, co-founded by Prince Harry in 2006, helps children and adolescents in Lesotho and Botswana struggling to come to terms with their HIV status. WellChild is a British charity that gives grants so young people with exceptional health needs can be cared for at home instead of in hospital.”

At the moment the British monarchy and Buckingham Palace  have said it would not comment on the book . But without doubt, the uneasiness of the British Royals on the forthcoming book is not necessarily on their mute commentary but on actions. By keeping mute on the book may also be a negotiating tool and ploy to soften Prince Harry and compelling him to remove any damage words or stories that may not set well with Buckingham Palace.
