Prof. Steve Hanke, a well respected professor of applied economics at the Johns Hopkins University and senior fellow at Cato institute has blasted the recent Nigerian presidential election  of February 25th as “one of the most FLAWED election in history “ In his earlier tweet, he described “Nigeria’s electoral commission and its chairman Mahmood Yakubu, INCOMPETENCE & CORRUPTION are the name of the game.” He further said that “Nigeria remains a “FAILED STATE.”

In his tweet account today, he wrote: “In the recent presidential election, polling stations were marked by violence, delays, & allegations of tampering. You can thank electoral commission chair Mahmood Yakubu & Sleepy Pres. Buhari for one of the MOST FLAWED elections in history. If Bola Tinubu victory is challenged, the courts should take a hard look”
