When do we stop as a nation and say that the tolerance for crude political maneuvering cannot stand anymore. We find justification for many atrocities committed by our leaders owing to our ethnic, religious and political affiliations. We are blinded to most of the injustices carried out in our system because we want to appeal to our base instincts.
The error in our outlook is that we fall short to realize that a wrong action by a leader has a damning consequence on the overall populace. That a president is from your ethnic, religious or political group will not shield you from the damaging repercussions of his negligible leadership.
The country has been going through a period of confusing ideological direction to fix the economy. One will expect a consensus of intellectual dissection of the ills with the hope to arrive at a disciplined opinion to steady the course of our politics. Sadly, the masses are hung up on dubious personal interest that can only lead to dimming the chances of a brilliant resolution.
We know the nature of the beast when it comes to political undertakings. Our survival instinct should enable us to know when to draw the line before we eclipse into Oblivion. Perhaps, what we are going through is the rough passage towards maturing our democracy. It is about time we begin to gather our differences in one basket to merge them into a strong whole.
The suffering in our society is taking a big toll in the quality of our living. It is as if we are reverting to the primitive ways. Except for the resourcefulness of some of our citizens, many of the facilities that make for a civilization will be diminished if not completely gone from our society. Worst of all is that hunger is resurfacing in many communities due to the bad policies of the government. A summon of the intellectual mass to map out our growth that is abstained from ethnic, religious and political association’ s colorations can lead us to a blossoming prosperity.
