Soludo Solution: Employing 5,000 Teachers and over 240 doctors for General Hospitals in Anambra State

November 11, 2022 by AFRIPOL Leave a Comment

The Governor of Anambra state, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is aggressively fulfilling his electoral campaign promises. His agenda for remaking and uplifting welfare of the people of Anambra State was christened Soludo Solution and now he is bringing it to fruition.

During an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today that was observed by AFRIPOL, Governor Chukwuma Soludo stated that 5,000 teachers in the Anambra state would be getting their employment letters in a few days.

He said: “We are handing out employment letters to more than 5, 000 teachers to end an era of schools without teachers. We are going to have over 240 doctors and consultants to man our general hospitals, so if you look at the five fingers approach of our programmes, we designed our budget to keep our eyes on the ball.”

Earlier, before the interview, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, presented a budget of N258.9bn for 2023 to Anambra state House of Assembly for approval.

Speaking to the House of Assembly, he said, “So far, we have not borrowed a kobo. We have, however, applied for N90bn out of the approved N100bn, and when it comes, we plan to roll it over as part of the 2023 financing.

“As a reflection of our people’s priority needs, about N91.8bn or 56 per cent of the total capital expenditure is devoted to roads, transport, power and urban regeneration that the average citizen can feel, see, or use.

“Education, health, youths, and women and vulnerable groups have their capital votes more than doubled.

“We appropriately budgeted for counterpart funding to catalyse resource inflows from our partners and expenditure on security remains barely unchanged in spite of increased challenges.”

The budget consists of N164.2bn capital expenditure and N95.5bn recurrent expenditure, representing 63.2 percent and 36.8 percent respectively, with deficit of N13bn.
