‘I am 43 percent Nigerian’ – Princess Meghan Markle

October 25, 2022 by AFRIPOL Leave a Comment

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle  during her weekly Spotify podcast revealed that she is ’43 percent’ Nigerian. Talking to Nigerian American actress and comedian Ziwe Fumudoh, Issa Rae and professor Emily Bernards, The Duchess of Sussex told them and  listeners to the podcast  that she took a genealogy test which revealed that she is 43% Nigerian.

“I just had my genealogy done a couple years ago,” Meghan reveals, as her guests eagerly ask her to share what the results entailed.

The Duchess then proudly says “I’m 43% Nigerian” to the shock of Ziwe, who shouts “No way!”.

“Are you serious? This is huge. Igbo, Yoruba, do we know?,” the Ziwe excitedly probes, desperate to know more about Meghan’s findings.

The Duchess of Sussex then tells her listeners: “I’m going to start to dig deeper into all of this because anyone that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are just like, what?”

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle is married to Prince Harry of the British monarch. Since the marriage she has briefly lived in Britain before moving to North America with her husband. Her departure from Britain and Royal duties were not received well particularly in the British media.
