Catriona Laing, British High Commissioner to Nigeria met with Ambassador George Obiozor, President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other senior leaders from the South East, Nigeria.
She wrote on her twitter page :”Good to meet Ambassador George Obiozor, President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other senior leaders from the South East. I heard clearly their commitment to a united Nigeria and their proposals on how to achieve this. Looking forward to more engagements in the near future.”
A News network reported : “It was learnt that Obiozor tabled before the UK mission team the demand for the release of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and others being held in connection with treason.” But it is unconfirmed because it was a private meeting.
